You'll notice many interesteung things in my bio. What is not mentioned is that I collect knives and sword, all of mine are made by Master Oso. Also in my younger days (of this lifetime) I was an armed security guard which led to me becoming a professional bodyguard for 5 years in the '80s in Hollywood.

~~No, I am not an unkind soul, but every now and then when some customer whines about a petty bit of BS (my view of course) or is a bullying ass, well, I just want to grip them by the throat (verbally) and inform them that the world is not their whipping horse, that they should shut up and take some measure of personal responibility for events in their lives and if this tiny thing so upsets their apple cart then when things truly fall apart they'll be in the first group to freak and vacate the plantet, will at the least be useless in helping themselves or anyone else. Then I remind myself that patience is also one of the warrior arts...and I'd lose my job. It just rankles me, this civilized mask I must wear so often in a society based on consumerism and lacking in personal responsibility, honesty, integrety and self-discipline. That, of course, is why I don't put it like the above statement, but try to find just as honest wording without the emotional content, sense of attack or non-constructive delivery. I think that there are too many masks, rules and 'correctness' that keep many of us from having to confront the truth of ourselves, what we have made of our lives and why we are here, which leads to a downward spiral overall for the species. We are so policed by outward, social contrivances that we have lost the ability to police ourselves, the wisdom to weigh and judge objectively and act with strength and compassion when needed instead of exploding in an emotional, violent mess. To be genuine and healthy and a positive light in this world. Warriorship encompases all aspects of our lives, if this is our way. I know that it is not most peoples' way, but I think much of that is due to environment, lack of education or understanding about such things or general laziness.

So much for my first post here ;)

Let me introduse myself.
Ive been a professional viking in Norway for the last 2 summers.
Been doing axe/knife-throwing.(thats fun!!)
And the occasional bow and arrow shooting.
Since januari I moved to PA. (love drove me oversea)
Got married into a family of gun collectors. And every family BBQ, the pieces come out to admire.
In Europe its not normal to have a gun. We think the americans are crazy. And I didnt want to believe my sweet hubby was like that.
And here I come, he has 2 pistols and a gun. The rest of the family has more then 25 a person... ehhh..
We had a big arguement about having guns in the house and I made him buy locks.
Now, 3 months later.. I bought a slingshot, have been shooting guns at family BBQ`s and made an appointment for next month to go shoot all kind of guns in a corry.
Going downhill from here....but lets call it integrading...

For some reason people couldn't resist picking it up. I'm doing some woodburning to highlight it. Then I have to finish it with a coating, maybe linseed oil. Not sure yet. Tom recommended I wrap the handle with leather. That's a thought.

I'm trying to prove it, because the first bow I was making had the handle pop off when it was put under pressure. Not one of my happier moments. But I learned a lot and I may be able to fix it still, by cutting and shaping a new handle, regluing it and holding it on with sinew.
But I feel a little burned out just now.

I love this time of year. We don't have much of an autumn in CA but it's there if you know where to look. The grocery stores have all kinds of Indian corn, colorful pumpkins and bumpy gourds. You can dress your altar in fall colors. You can get candles in all the oranges, browns and blacks too. Trader Joe's usually carries tapers in those colors. And my local dollar store had tons of candles and candle holders to choose from. If you have a local pagan /new age store, you can get your candles there. They may cost a little more, but if you help to keep the store going, it will be there when you need it.
My decorations this year reflect a pirate's graveyard. The wind is determined to blow my Jolly Roger down, but I keep hanging it back up. The rain wiped out the only paper decoration I had. Everything else is wood or metal or fabric.
I'd love to hear what the rest of you are doing.
